01Fuels

One boiler,many fuels.

Wood chips, pellets and firewood – but also sawdust, wood shavings, logging residues, peat and other residues. Most of our customers burn wood chips or similar material.

PelleTech Multiauto in the wood-chip version. Eight fuels are fed into the rotary valve: wood chips, pellets, firewood, logging residues, sawdust, wood shavings, peat and residues.

From the farm to smaller industry.

Multiauto is the right fit where you want to burn the fuel that is cheapest and easiest to obtain.

Properties
Homes, schools and premises with their own boiler room.
Farms
Ideally with wood chips from your own forest.
Smaller industries
Several boilers in cascade for greater demand.

02Stepped grate

At heart,industrial.

The heart of Multiauto is the stepped grate in the burner. It provides evenly distributed combustion and continuous cleaning – the boiler does not need to stop for cleaning, and operation is smoother.

With the grate, the boiler can burn more types of fuel, including wetter and dirtier ones. You get greater freedom of choice, and peace of mind should a fuel become hard to obtain.

OperationCombustionCleaning
Stepped grateOperationThe boiler never has to stop for cleaning.CombustionSteady, even with wetter fuels and chips with bark.CleaningAutomatic and continuous, in two phases.
Tipping grateTipping grateStops to tip out the ash.Tipping grateOutput drops as bark, hard-to-burn material or impurities build up.Tipping grateFrequent cleaning, with starts and stops and a risk of sintering.

All Multiauto boilers have a moving stepped grate instead of a fixed tipping grate. That is why you can burn the fuel that is cheapest right now and readily available.

05How Multiauto works

How the heatis harnessed.

Cleaning, ignition and ash discharge are all automatic. The boiler consists of two modules: a burner module and a heat exchanger module.

  1. 1Ash screw and ash boxThe ash screw carries the ash here from both the burner and the convection section – the shear pin sits on the outside. 26–38 or 70 litres, removable and easy to empty.
  2. 2Water jacketThe boiler water surrounds the firebox and tubes.
  3. 3FireboxRefractory material with silicon carbide, withstands approx. 1,500 °C. The fuel burns out on the stepped grate.
  4. 4Flue tubesThe turbulators move up and down to keep the tubes clean.
  5. 5Rotary valve and stokerThis is where the fuel comes in. The stoker screw feeds it into the burner.

The fuel's path

  1. Fuel store

The fuel is fed by screw from the store, for example a store with a spring agitator.

  2. Rotary valve

The rotor sits in the housing below the inlet. The valve is fully sealed and cuts over-long pieces.

  3. Stoker screw

Generously sized, with thick flights for a long service life. 100 or 150 mm, in a casing of 140 and 190 mm respectively.

  4. Burner

The fuel reaches the stepped grate and burns out.

Motor and gearbox. The motor is completely maintenance-free and directly coupled to the stoker screw. Via twin heavy-duty chains it also drives the rotary valve – the two always work in sync.
